Thank you to our supporters

As many of you know, we are a member run community bookshop. We couldn't do all we do without you, our local community of supporters and we would like to thank each and every one of you for your support.

What you may not know is that we also are also supported by a number of national organisations, who provide advice, loans and grants and without whom we couldn't do all that we do. These are our hidden supporters and we would like to say thank you to them all today as we go into this New Year. 

Cooperative and Community Finance (CCF) support hundreds of businesses, from small community led enterprises like ours to large award winning organisations. CCF have lent us money in order to purchase our current premises and they have been a flexible and listening lender over the years.

Although we are no longer a co-op we continue to operate with cooperative principles and we are members of Cooperatives UK. They have supported us with business advice a number of times and we are really grateful for the extensive document resource they offer to members for free. 

The Co-op Foundation have also lent us funds for improving our community space, funds that have been vital in building a sustainable income from the space. They also awarded us a grant which allowed us to employ Suzanne who has done marvellous work in building income from our hirers. 

We have also received grant funds from Power to Change through their Community Business Trade Up programme (which became a pandemic business support network too), which helped us increase capacity and return to previous trading levels after the pandemic.
