Newly published 1st May

Two great new titles out on the 1st May. Is a River Alive? from Robert MacFarlane, out in Hardback, is one for all lovers of the wonderful rivers that flow through our city, the River Itchen and the River Test. In the book Macfarlane follows the journeys of three great rivers and weaves them together with the flow of the River Cam which passes through his home city. If the book inspires you to get involved, look out for local events and activities from The Friends of the Itchen Estuary group

The second newly published title we recommend is Our Island Stories by Corinne Fowler, which provides another view of our rural landscape, uncovering the hidden history of empire. Fowler explores the countryside through 10 walks, including one near Tolpuddle and another just north of Winchester from the village of East Stratton and called The Bankers' Walk. A great book to help you explore our colonial history this summer.
