Brilliant New Recommendations: Marika
Share
We have a week of recommendations from friends of the shop.. To kick off we have three recommendations by a Marika who is part of our Book Buying Group, She is very well read. The first is 'There are Rivers in the Sky' by Elif Shafak; an absolutely beautiful novel bringing together themes of myth, religion, history, empire, and ecology and, like Sally Rooney's latest, gently touches on themes of neurodivergence. ' It is a prize finalist for The Owell Foundation 2025. The second is 'Hayek's Bastards' by Quinn Slobodian which is an important new book from one of the sharpest commentators on contemporary right wing politics'. The final book: 'Hermaphrodite Logic' by Juliana Gleeson (to be published on the 3rd June) shares one of the UK's most incisive thinkers' views on the issues of gender.
