Defend and Defy at Mayflower Studios

Clare really enjoyed an evening at Mayflower Studios this week, an evening of poetry and stories from Emma Must, Helen Beynon and others about the struggle to preserve the other than human word, with a focus on Twyford Down in Winchester. 

The event, a collaboration between @Mayflower Studios and @ArtfulScribe, brought the events at Twyford Down of over 30 years ago back to life, with Emma reading from The Ballad of Yellow Wednesday and Helen reading the words of others from Twyford Rising.

Clare says 'It was an emotional event, with the audience reading some of the words of activists at Twyford Down, Emma reading her rallying cry from her appearance in court and a real feeling of the  of the events at Twyford Down rippling out through the activist and environmental movements today'.
