Books to fight off January blues

Books to fight off January blues

January usually feels like a really long month. With the fun and frivolity of Christmas over, New Years resolutions already broken (!?) and the days still short and dark, it can be a difficult time to be maintain our mental health. So, I've selected a few books for you which will help fight off those January blues.

First up is the wonderful Wintering by Katherine May, a wonderful celebration of the fallow seasons of our lives, a recognition of the need for times of quiet and reflection. She writes 'We may never choose to winter, but we can choose how.” We invite you to choose how too.

Next is Bob Mortimer's autobiography 'And Away...'. Filled with stories of Bob's life with the usual dose of nonsense and irreverence we come to expect from him, 'And Away' is a great winter read. Perhaps accompany it with an episode or two of Gone Fishing for the full Bob experience.

A final recommendation is to loose yourself in Narnia... for children and adults alike C.S. Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and other chronicles in the series are a wonderful escape this winter season.

I hope you enjoy
