'We ain't going to get out of the mess we are in with more of the same' - Books to bring in Spring

With the reassuring first signs of spring in our gardens and green spaces, the time is now to open our heads and hearts to new ideas and new ways of thinking. For we ain’t going to get out of the mess we are in with more of the same. So, three books for you to ponder for spring, one old, one new and one to be published in April.

My first is Towards an Ecological Society by Murray Bookchin, originally published in 1980. The book discusses the need to ‘restore the human scale in our environment and in our social relations' and I think we need a bit of that. You can order a more recent edition from us or read on The Anarchist Library pages

The second book came out in January and provides a handbook for non-traditional relationships. The Non-Monogamy Playbook by Ruby Rare explores polyamory and open relationships, from practical tips to well researched guidance, providing readers with a guide to the rules of non- traditional relationships.

My third spring recommendation is not yet published but will be on my reading list. The Lost Paths by Jack Cornish explores the deep history of our pathways and uncovers how this millennia-old network was created and has evolved - from prehistoric trackways to the modern creation of towns - reflecting the contours of the past and the changing fortunes of society. I might have a very different view of the world once I finish reading.

Enjoy and let us know your inspiring books for spring in the comments
