Soiree this way!

Soiree this way!

For an interesting night out, Portswood High Street always delivers. On the evening of Thursday 9th May, amidst the usual fried chicken, hotpot and craft beer, and alongside some mild fisticuffs (not ours) and a Rolls Royce (not ours), October Books hosted a relaxed soirée to launch the shop’s new look.

Upon arrival, guests received a gift bag consisting of Yogi tea bags, Tony’s Chocolonely chocolates, an October Books postcard, and a chocolate coin. Delightful music emanated from a hidden source as drinks, both alcoholic and non, were offered, as well as a variety of nibbles. Suzanne, Amelia, Jack and Jacqueline hosted around 15 attendees to show off the results of our labour!

Among the new features we were keen to highlight were alphabetisation (innovative), plants and knickknacks (colourful), and a spacious yet cosy layout (inviting!).

It was really lovely to mill around the bookshop, drink in hand, and talk to members of our community. If you couldn’t make it, we certainly missed you, but do come in when you can and tell us what you think about the changes we’ve made!
