NEW Local history books in the shop now

We have two great new books in the shop this week. The first is the new book in the series from local authors Ally Hayes and Wendy Stokes, A Walk Around the City Parks. The book takes the reader through the Central Parks and their roots in the city’s medieval history. The stories and history of Queens Park, Town Quay Park, Mayflower, Blechynden Terrace and Arundel Gardens are also included. Some lovely colour plates, we think this one will be one of our Christmas bestsellers.

Another new book on the shelves is Geology and Archaeology of Hampshire by John Firth. Published by the small Hampshire press, Baffin Books, this is a must read for anyone who wants to explore the the history of our county from a different perspective.
