Holocaust Memorial Day - 27th January

October Books supports Holocaust Memorial Day on 27th January, remembering the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust. This date marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.

Each year across the UK, thousands of people come together to learn more about the past and take action to create a safer future. In previous years October Books has been present at the Southampton’s Parkes Institute Holocaust Memorial Day event. This is being held this year at the Sir James Matthews building and you can book your tickets here .

We won’t make it along this year but we have given FREE copies of Those Who Forget by Geraldine Schwarz to the organisers to distribute to participants. The books were kindly donated to us by a local community member, who felt the story told by the book was one that needed sharing widely. We are extremely grateful to this anonymous donor.
