Conversations about Friends of Israel by Hil Aked

A huge thank you to Hil Aked for making the trip down from London to talk about their book Friends of Israel. The book, which is accessibly written, empirically rich, and very politically relevant has been thoroughly researched by Hil, who did a PhD on the topic

Hil opened the evening with a reading from the book, then spoke about the different ways Israel influences the narrative, drawing upon interviews with leading Zionist activists, alongside those with Palestinian rights activists, documents obtained through Freedom of Information requests, archival material and the wealth of literature produced by Israel-advocacy groups. The question and answer session was rich and varied and Hil provided participants with much to think about.
