Join us for the first ‘climate cafe’ event in Southampton, jointly hosted by October Books and Extinction Rebellion Southampton!
What is a Climate Cafe? A climate café is a simple, hospitable, empathetic space where fears & uncertainties about our climate & ecological crisis can be safely expressed. This is a model established by the Climate Psychology Alliance.
This Climate Café is a sharing and processing group. We work from the premise that climate urgency is “real” and human-induced - based on overwhelming scientific evidence.
The purpose of this group is to foster a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which to share experiences and emotions, worries and hopes regarding climate urgency. Furthermore, the sharing in the Climate Café might help you to develop new perspectives and being or becoming active in the climate crisis.
Facilitated by Doris Prügel-Bennett MSc (BPA/UKCP), Psychodrama Psychotherapist, and member of Climate Psychology Alliance (CPA). As a qualified psychotherapist, Doris shall guide the meeting, allowing for deep sharing as well as the development of deep adaptation and resilience. Every participant is welcome to express their interests, concerns and emotions.
Advanced booking is essential via Eventbrite link or email ClimateEling@talktalk.net for more information. This is an adult focused event so ideally attendees shall be older than 16. Attendance is free, but you may make a donation if you wish!
