What Next for the Climate Movement?
Thursday 27th July, 7pm
An open but urgent dialogue concerning every method of direct action available to us
Join Robin Gardener for a talk about his experience of direct action, what drew him into activism and why he made his book. The talk will be followed by a Q&A and discussion about what the future is for climate based activism.
Robin Gardener is a documentary photographer based in Brighton focusing on direct action, and also the founder of Underworld.Studio - a community music studio that engages disadvantaged young people in collaborative music creation. His book ‘Gears of the Machine’ is a deep dive into the radical flank of the climate movement in the UK told through photographs, personal experience and interviews with several prominent activists from groups including Just Stop Oil and Animal Rebellion as they grapple with a government clampdown and the unrelenting urgency of a burning world.
