A great line up of speakers including bookshop regulars in Tony Kushner, who will talk about Southampton, the migrant city, and Jayanti Shah who will dig into discussions on anti-racism and local restaurateur We have worked closely with Tony for many years and are very excited to be the hosts for his walking tour: Migrant Southampton - Past & Present which will happen after TedX on Sunday the 26th June
Other speakers will connect the audience with Climate Change and Covid, explore ideas on the use of AI in archaeology and the psychology of bipolar disorder, the importance of food for connecting communities, and hear about the amazing human foot and about learning to love bugs. You can view the speaker line-up here.
There will also be a couple of short musical performances. During the breaks you can try some optional activities including a mini-nature walk and TV quiz show-style games. The Turner Sims bar will be open throughout.
The event closes with a reception with some complimentary drinks and refreshments, while discussing the ideas you’ve heard with each other and the speakers.

We are back open six days a week, with the whole store open for browsing. We will still of course be taking customer orders and you will still be able to buy food and cleaning products online through our online store.
We are able to be open 6 days a week again because of your consideration and care whilst in the shop. Though things are opening up, covid cases are still high and a lot of our staff have only received one jab. So we are asking customers to continue to leave that extra space, sanitise their hands and pull on their mask. We really appreciate it.
