Summer stories

Summer stories

As we roll into summer we would like to hear from you, our readers, about the books that you are reading. We spend a lot of our time letting you know about the books we order and we thought it was time to hear about your recommendations for books, be they fiction, travel books or books full of facts, we would love to hear about what you are reading. Do post on our Facebook pages, Twitter or drop us a line or pop in to the shop.

In return we will share with you some of the stories of our hirers this month. Did you know you can do yoga in the community space on a Thursday morning with the lovely Emma? Or meditation on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evening of the month with Coexist? Perhaps some food and song at our regular Monday vegan cafe Veg Out? Or have you always been interested in the Quakers but not been able to get to a meeting? Or maybe you would like to help with the garden, growing our very own green space for the community? Or perhaps have a space to work once a week that’s a change from home or the office? All this and so much more happens in our community space EVERY month…. look out for more blogs in this series to find out more or check out our EVENTS page here

This month’s Art Exhibition continues on last month’s theme and is called Lost in Transit: Finding Gendered Journeys Through Art and Technology and is all about gender, safety & mobility and is organised by the University of Southampton’s Close the Data Gap group. The exhibition will run from 5th to the 31st July.
