Running for Southampton Hospitals Charity
One of our members and long term volunteers, Richard Cervantes, has kicked off his slippers and put on his running shoes in order to raise funds for the Covid Heroes appeal, organised by Southampton Hospitals Charity. Richard has signed up for the Couch to 5K and has set up his own Just Giving Page and he’s already raised over £500 and is up to 15 minutes running non-stop. Quite an achievement for someone who never ran more than the 400m as a teenager.
Richard has also offered to do a bit of publicity for October Books while he is out and about jogging saying "I'd also like to publicise October Books, the wonderful independent cooperative in Portswood that has been open throughout the pandemic for books and food (both essential in lockdown)"
