New Product Alert! Sustainable Make Up Bags made from reclaimed fabrics

We have a new product launching in October Books this week from the fantastic local creator ‘Sew Ruthless Handmade’

These beautiful make up bags are being sold in store with an RRP of £10 and are made in a wide range of patterns and colours from various sources of reclaimed fabrics. Below is a little information on the products from Ruth

‘These Make up bags have been thoughtfully made by up cycling fabrics such as remnants, old linen and curtain, second and pieces or form natural fabrics sourced from small fabric boutiques. They are handmade from my Southampton home on my vintage Bernina sewing machine, sewn in small batch’s so as not to over produce. They are one of a kind as most of the fabrics they are made from are in limited amounts, making them a very unique and personal gift.

Fill them with other sustainable goodies like soap, washcloths, eco friendly beauty products or what ever you like! They also make good little handbags., pencil cases, storage bags for all the little bits you never know what to do with and even baby bas for keeping creams, wipes and ointments in when your on the go with the your little ones.

When we buy consciously and locally made products form small business we automatically do something positive for the environment. It’s hard to be 100% sustainable but all any of us can do it try.’

From 10am - 4pm

Please note. The shop floor will be open for the sale of essential food and household items. We will not be open for you to browse our bookshelves, but if you have ordered books or household items online or via the phone you will be able to collect them during these opening hours!
