Local news - Art House closure

We are so sad to hear about the upcoming closure of The Art House premises in Above Bar Southampton. The Art House crew have been great supporters of all that we do here at October Books and we know how long and hard they will have thought before making this decision. We wish the Art House team a year full of great new adventures and projects, as well as some well earned down time and rest in 2024. Thank you all for supporting October Books over the years.

We know all about the time and resources needed to run and maintain premises but thankfully ours belong to you, our community, and so we aren’t paying out in rent to be here. We also know the need to follow your own desires rather than getting bogged down in the management and administration of a building and our very own Clare is planning a sabbatical in April this year to have some time away from October Books responsibilities.
