Children's Christmas Reads

Christmas is a great time to get children and young adults interested in reading. We have a few Christmas reads available online and in the shop that we are sure our younger readers will love.

First on our Christmas list is The Snow Dragon, written by Abi Elphinstone and beautifully illustrated by Fiona Woodcock. A magical tale of escape and adventure to lighten any dark winter night.

Our next seasonal favourite is The Turkey that voted for Christmas by Madeleine Cook, which tells the tale of Timmy Turkey’s quest for festive cheer on the farm… all achieved through a free and fair democratic electoral process!

Santa's Christmas Countdown by Kath Jewitt, includes some touch and feel elements as well as wonderful illustrations by Sebastien Braun. A fun story for the younger reader and for the young at heart too.

A robot reindeer and a female engineer star in Santa’s New Reindeer by Caroline Crowe. Comic verse and wonderful illustrations by Jess Pauwels, make this a hilarious Christmas ‘must have’ for the little ones.

And finally, a short novella for young adults, This Winter by Alice Oseman follows the characters from her bestselling Heart stopper series as they navigate a harder than usual festive season.
