We know how to travel, but do we know how to come home?
The Welsh have a word for it. This disconnection we feel. They call it hiraeth. “Mae hiraeth arna i" they say. “There is a hiraeth upon me.”
Hiraeth lies like a weight in the being. In the heart. In the soul. It expresses our sense of separation and the deep longing that accompanies it. Hiraeth, then, could be said to be our longing for belonging. To ourselves, to each other and to the land.
In a world so profoundly disconnected, how do we build bridges to belonging? Through the journey of this book, Helen aims to find out. Please register your interest and join her in the shop!
