Join local ecologist, Kevin Bryan and Transition Southampton in the shop for this talk - we commence at 7pm, see you there!
Good soils are one of our greatest assets. Over the last 2,000 years or so, we’ve done a pretty good job at degrading that wealth. However, the penny is dropping. Whilst good soil health is obviously essential to food production, there’s now a realisation that protecting and building soils may be our most potent tool for carbon sequestration and drawdown.
This talk explores the broader issues of soil, climate change and what we can do to help the soil in our own gardens.
Transition Southampton believes in a positive, sustainable, community imagined future. They work with local communities, organisations and local governments to create positive, sustainable, community-based solutions that tackle climate change and energy scarcity. They are part of the international Transition Network, and have a range of active and past projects across food, energy, waste, transport and the built environment.
Please register via Eventbrite for instructions to join and to help us manage numbers in the shop.
