Conversations From Southampton: with Southampton Action and Clear
To accompany the Conversations From Calais exhibition in our Community Space (27th June - 2nd July) we are very proud to welcome Nicola Walters from Southampton Action, and Mike Brown from Clear, who will be talking about the work they do supporting refugees in our City and further afield.
The exhibition aims to re-humanise those affected by the refugee crisis by using public space to share conversations volunteers have had with migrants met in Calais. The project aims to take over public space, commemorate these voices and inspire social change.
We will be displaying these posters in our Community Space following on from Refugee Week. This talk, and for the duration of the exhibition we will be operating as a donation point for Southampton Action - so if you are able to bring toiletries along they will be distributed to refugees living in the local area.
This event is free entry, but if you’d like to sling us here at October Books a donation, you can do so here. If you’d like to donate to Southampton Action you can do so here.
