More emerging plans
We updated you last week about some of our future plans for the shop, ideas that have been collected and collated from our team, our members and discussed at our Committee meeting. We really do aim to hear everyone’s views and ideas and we want to involve our community in as many ways as possible.
Some of the other simple ideas that we will be actioning in the coming months include:
A book sale of some of our older stock
A clear out of the strong room and the sales space in the corridor, the latter allowing the possibility of other hosted products for sale
Review of previous plans and writing of a new six month plan for the shop and for each individual team member
Some more emerging ideas that we will review and ponder some more over the coming weeks include:
Encouraging our local community to run the shop one day a week with the support of the the regular shop team
Host a local/independent authors book fair on an annual basis
Collaborative hosting of like minded businesses (any thoughts or ideas on local organisations who might like to hire some shop space?)
Watch this space for more information on the above and do let us know if you are able to help
Remember we are looking for members and customers who would like to be on our Committee short term, particularly anyone with strategic overview, business planning, HR or finance skills. These positions are co-opted, so you don’t have to sign up to be a permanent member of the committee but can just come along to a meeting and contribute. Do write to Clare at clare@octoberbooks.org if you are interested.
