Did you know that we are a donation point for The Homeless Period?

Here at October Books we’ve been a donation point for The Homeless Period for a number of years, and we’re pleased to say that after a short coronavirus-related pause, we are accepting donations once more.

The Homeless Period are a brilliant volunteer-led organisation that distribute donated period products and toiletries from those than can afford them, to those that can’t. The Southampton branch was created in 2017, and is now coordinated by the amazing Louanne. You can see the local charities they distribute to here.

As we all know, the impact of covid19 has been huge, and for many people there will continue to be financial implications for some time. So if you are in a position to donate towels, tampons, pads or liners (or in fact any toiletries!) we know they would be gratefully received.

All brands accepted (you could even pick up some Natracare brand ones from our shelves should you wish!), and unopened packets preferred if possible. Picking up an extra box, or taking advantage of those 2-for-1 offers, could make a huge difference to someone out there.

All you need to do is hand your donation over the counter when you come in and shop at OB. We’ll do the rest.
