As part of Dementia Action Week 2022, join Portswood and area Dementia Action Group and Carers In Southampton in the shop for a chance to chat and learn about dementia.
Join Katherine Barbour and Erica Roberts from Portswood and area Dementia Action Group and Debbie Hendry of Carers in Southampton for a chance to chat about this disease and find out about services in the local area that support people living with dementia and their carers.
What can we do to reduce our risk of developing dementia?
What services are available locally?
Why is it important to get a diagnosis?
Find out, here at October Books. The booklet, “The Importance of early diagnosis and services in Southampton” will be shared at this event.
Katherine started the Portswood and area dementia action group (DAG) in 2015 to support local people living with dementia. Erica is the city chaplain for older people and the co chair of the Portswood and area DAG.
Please register via Eventbrite for instructions to join and to help us manage numbers in the shop. We are operating with Covid caution here at October Books, so please respect your fellow attendees by maintaining some distance. We are requesting that people attending events/gatherings in the shop please wear a face covering - to ensure all people feel safe.
This is a free entry event, but if you'd like to sling October Books a donation, please do.
