Community Blogs Series: Veg Out
Want a freshly cooked hot meal, vegan or not, you will have a good meal, meet other people from Portswood with a warm community atmosphere?
Veg Out is a pop-up vegan community cafe, using food that would otherwise be thrown away, and supporting social and environmental justice for all. The Cafe promotes a vegan ethos because there can be no real justice without an end to the violent exploitation and abuse of all sentient non-human animals. It’s pay as you feel, so affordable for everyone, and opens every Monday 11.45 am - 3.30 (lunch served from 12.15) in the Community Space at the back of October Books. On the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month there is a musical act that starts at 12.30.
Here is a quote from Chris, a regular attendee, `the food is different to what I was used to, I have not experienced vegan food before, I enjoy it. I like the atmosphere and the music.’
