Have you ever wondered what recovery from addiction might be like, and why they just can’t say no? We are very excited to welcome Sarina Wheatman back to October Books to hear about her new novel My Best Thinking: The Highs And Lows Of Rehab.

Mimi thinks she has killed someone whilst in a blackout, she doesn’t think she’s an addict and she definitely does not want recovery. This is story about how therapists, peers and rehab help Mimi see the truth, whilst also serving as an information manual and signposting useful resources to the reader. This book gives a birds eye view from the inside out how people can be moved from denial to recovery. Sad, shocking, informative, sometimes funny but ultimately hopeful - it is time to change perceptions about addictions, and find better solutions.

Sarina is a local therapist who works with addictions. She has worked for a variety of rehabs in different countries, but is currently located in Southampton.

Please book your free tickets in advance to register your interest.
