Badge Making Day for Volunteers and Members

Badge Making Day for Volunteers and Members

We think badges are cool and they have long been a mainstay for activists and campaigners, artists and creatives to make a statement. We would love to have a day creating some badges that we can then sell in the shop that are all about us becoming a community business and empowering our community to own a bookshop! We’ll be making on Saturday 6th August The badge machine will be hired from our friends at Southampton Scrapstore.

We think that bringing business in to community ownership really helps to address so many of the issues we see in society today. Community owned businesses look after the needs of the local community, they are there for the community and are run by the community. They are equitable and fair and really benefit the local economy. They allow everyone to have a say and help to create vibrant and thriving high streets.

Does all that sound good? We are open:

Monday - Saturday

10am - 5.30 pm

We are back open six days a week, with the whole store open for browsing. We will still of course be taking customer orders and you will still be able to buy food and cleaning products online through our online store.

We are able to be open 6 days a week again because of your consideration and care whilst in the shop. Though things are opening up, covid cases are still high and a lot of our staff have only received one jab. So we are asking customers to continue to leave that extra space, sanitise their hands and pull on their mask. We really appreciate it.
